The first night belongs to two legendary artists that do not seem to age. Mark E. Smith and his always changing Post-Punk formation The Fall is active since 1976 and played already alongside cult bands like Joy Division, The Smiths, or New Order. Their discography is almost innumerable and Smith's aura as a performer is - in view of his age - like he never lost the anger of the youth. The other legend is Grant Hart - once part of Hüsker Dü and Nova Mob. Since 1988 he is famed for his Alternative Rock solo works. In Cologne he will present his latest album The Argument - a record that promises a show full of stylistical changes. The opening band of the night are Yuck from London who will introduce their latest fuzzed-up longplayer Glow & Behold.
The second night is overshadowed by the show of Young Marbel Giants. The larger-than-life Post-Punk trio from Cardiff, Wales will perform exclusively their never aging record Colossal Youth - an album that had a major influence on artists such as Kurt Cobain and The xx. Therefore, it is sadly a little minor matter that also Glasgow's fabulous The Pastels, gloomy Folk singer/songwriter Mirel Wagner, and The Go-Betweens found Robert Foster will perform. They all will play irresistible guitar music - but for a concert of the Young Marbel Giants some people would travel the world!
