Seen here on Detroit rapper, singer and producer Illa J – younger brother of J Dilla and former member of the seminal Slum Village collective – is a selection of new-old pieces. For F/W18, Carhartt WIP has dug into its archive, to recreate some of the most iconic styles in their O.G. fit – a little more boxy and oversized than is typical.

This season sees a selection of fleece interpretations of sportswear styles. Think coach jackets, created in a shaggy pile fabric, or a six panel cap given an injection of winter warmth. Each features an embroidered Carhartt WIP logo. There’s also a camouflage iteration of a midlayer bomber jacket, accented by nylon panelling.

Since Carhartt WIP’s earliest days, military references and stylistic cues taken from BDU garments have been incorporated into the brand’s clothes. Designed for functionality, these pieces have always mirrored our own, which are created to be just as robust and utilitarian. This week, we spotlight some seasonal standouts from our Military Program, focussing on four styles of F/W18 pants.

For Fall/Winter 2018, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with the iconic UK-based record label, Trojan. Founded in 1968, Trojan Records is a label dedicated to ska, reggae and dub music, and takes its name from the so-called “Trojan Truck” – the sound system used in Jamaica by the seminal DJ and producer Duke Reid. The label has also released music by the likes of Tony Tribe, Lee “Scratch” Perry's Upsetters, Bob and Marcia, and Desmond Dekker. For this collaboration, we gave the Chicago bootlegging collective Boot Boyz access to the record label’s graphic archive, to create a series of t-shirts in their own signature DIY style..

Some garments are archetypally Carhartt WIP. Perhaps no garment encapsulates that quite as well as our Bib Overall – a versatile piece that takes inspiration from classic workwear, but when placed in the context of today, leaves for endless stylistic possibilities. Also spotlighted this week is our Script Logo – a low-key yet instantly-recognizable emblem. This season, we’ve applied it to t-shirts, sweats and a new mock-neck long-sleeve, accenting a spectrum of bold colors.
