Florence: Disconnect (Code) 2020

The Disconnect <code> series is back in Florence, bringing four nights of sound experimentation and new visual languages, investigating the centrality of codes in today’s technological culture. The series takes place between February and May and will feature artists such as Swedish techno producer Varg, PAN mastermind Bill Kouligas, who will perform a rare live show, and British DJ and producer Kode 9, the man behind the pioneering label Hyperdub.
For the first night this Saturday (February 8th) Florence-based British electronic music producer and designer Herva will perform alongside the outstanding Taiwanese electronic music artist and DJ Meuko! Meuko!. Together with NAXS corp. she will present her new audio-visual project, "⻤島 Ghost Island Live A/V". Her music traverses the dystopian ruins of the Ghost Island and Cyber-Dreamscape, the audience might find that this is not a fantasy or a fable, but rather the mythological reality in which we all live in. Starting from Meuko! Meuko!'s musical dreamscape, NAXS corp. will build on her sound, creating visuals of abandoned statues, floating ruins, stray dogs and hieroglyphics.
