Düsseldorf: Open Source Festival

You know the drill by now. This year’s instalment of Open Source Festival is just around the corner and promises to be as live as ever. Located at a picturesque racecourse near the heart of Düsseldorf, this year’s one-day event comes with an equally impressive line-up, including the likes of a Scandinavian melancholic techno impresario Trentemøller, Canadian electronic music project Austra, German hip hop and more pop anarchists Antilopen Gang as well as the Hamburg based indie-rock legends Die Sterne.
Open Source will also see a stage presented by Carhartt WIP and adorned by artwork from Tim Berresheim, as part of a wider collaboration with the Aachen-based visual artist. On the bill for the Carhartt stage are agile British production duo Mount Kimbie, London-born sonic futurist Gaika, Düsseldorf based pop duo BAR or Illa J, a prodigious Detroit beatmaker/rapper and brother of the legendary J Dilla. As ever, Open Source will be a compelling clash of music, art and culture – and we hope to see you there.
