This winter issue was once again pretty cool (maybe even cold…). The Carhartt booth featured the exhibition THE GLORIOUS TRAGEDY OF YOUTH from Alberto Polo and Sergej Vutuc. And we presented of course the new collection, our ads and projects related to skateboarding for 2009, like the Yama & Carhartt Board Series designed by belgian artist ELZO, the Skateboard Museum T-Shirts etc…
And as it’s never enough for Sergej, he also organized an all-in-one exhibition/happening/concert/movie projection in one of the cells of the former police station where the Bright takes place. Ben The made the road from Geneva to customize the walls with some nice collages…
The Stuttgart Skate Museum crew was also exhibiting some nice old pieces and showing their amazing book “Made for Skate”. A full post will follow in the nearby future.
Of course it was too cold (it’s Germany!) to skate outside so the “street course” was not even mounted. People had to release their energy in the bowl designed by Minus Ramps few years ago. It was 3 days of non-stop intensive sessions in there, most of the craziest actions happened between the contest sessions. Guillaume Mocquin and Julien Benoliel kept the bowl warm most of the time… But we enjoyed seeing Rune Glifberg, Ethan Fowler, the Dykmans brothers (and father), Hans Claessens and many more shredding that bowl.
Besides this, Playboard magazine organized a game of skate / poker in one of the rooms, but we were too amazed by the bowl session to follow that one. Next time… The idea seemed funny!
Parties went on every night, the Monster Magazine’s one was the most dangerous one with free whisky but we stayed really late strong and almost sober…
You are probably asking yourself if we worked and yes we did, between the bowl sessions, the Beautiful Loosers projection and some free booze we had appointments, meetings and co…
Anyway, next edition is this summer and we will surely enjoy it again.
See you there
