The story behind this fresh DIY record company began when Matias Aguayo and his friend Gary Pimiento start to do the BumBumBox bashes in the city of Buenos Aires. For this they took their oversized boom boxes to selected public spaces, to throw spontaneous partys. The music featured DJ mixes from friends all over the world, who prepared their sets with a street fiesta in mind at their home studio and sent them to the BumBumBox initiators via internet.
After a while the Cómeme label outgrow from these happenings, to represent the vibe of the street dance with fresh productions from artists like Rebolledo, Diegors, DJS Pareja or Matias Aguayo.
With a rough and polyrhythmic sound aesthetic that likes to jack and switch from Cúmbia to Techno, from Disco, Kwaito, and House to street sounds, Cómeme blaze new trails in the dance music world, as you can hear in the fabulous Carhartt radio show, that was mixed and toasted by Rebolledo, Diegors, and Matias Aguayo.
To gain a deeper inside into the Cómeme world, check out the new Rugged Magazine issue. Later this month also two extensive interviews with Matias Aguayo (who just released his new new album Ay Ay Ay on Kompakt) and Rebolledo will look behind the scenes of the global working Cómeme universe on Carhartt Music.
