Detroit native and hip hop one-off-a-kind Danny Brown just released his new album Atrocity Exhibition on the influential British electronic and beyond label Warp. The Detroit rapper's fifth LP was named after a song by the iconic British Post-punk band Joy Division and it features guests like American singer and songwriter Kelela as well as hip hop colleagues like Earl Sweatshirt or superstar Kendrick Lamar. To arrange his hallucinogen sample-laden tunes, he also received some help from in-demand producers like Evian Christ, Petite Noir or The Alchemist, who all assisted Brown for an unorthodox album that ties up Lazer guitars, creaking vocal-samples or drone missile strike sounds. In addition Brown revealed that his fresh full-length record is inspired by the solo works of Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon, early music by Island's pop star Björk and the Œuvre of the Post-punk and experimental pop band Talking Heads.
Carhartt WIP joint forces with the free-spirited Detroit MC again and presents his upcoming Europe tour. The unapologetic rapper, that talked in rhyme from the moment he began to speak, will travel through Great Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Norway to play 19 unforeseeable shows.
