The set consists of 8 different black and white photographs that come on deluxe 300 gram postcards with gloss finishing. The title and frame that Scott drew for his book have been screenprinted onto the cards in a seperate work-step, such as the envelopes they are coming in. Besides the golden screenprint each envelope is handnumbered and closed with a selfmade wax seal and then packed into a transparent foil. There are 1000 sets in total, available in selected carhartt stores now!
“I remember the first postcard i received from Scott Bourne after I got to know him around 2002 and how unusual it already was back then to get a real card in the mail. In digital times, physical letters and cards have become a rarity, like a died-out technique and I had almost forgotten about the special feeling you get when you receive a postcard from someone. It’s funny to think about all the electronic mail I send and receive nowadays – I don’t print or save any of my digital stuff, whereas I know keep a shoebox with all the cards, photos and personal letters I’ve ever received. Well, Scott is a big fan of the mail and he loves sending cards. If the post would sponsor people, Scott should be their Nr. 1 activist. It’s insane how much post this man has sent in his lifetime and how in return, he got people back into sending each other post as well. I just remember the feeling when stepping to the postbox in the morning with the usual grumpy bad-mood when expecting nothing but invoices.. but then – between all the payment reminders and advertising – there was this special message.. personally chosen, handwritten and carrying the stamp of the place it has been sent from… This is how he got me back into it. I have posted many letters and cards ever since – for the simple pleasure of knowing that it will brighten a friends day when he receives it.”
