85 bands have played during the three days in front of about 15000 fans, which is triple the population of this beautiful small village close to Nantes, where the hellfest takes place. The local supermarket was well prepared and stored thousands of liters of beer and thousands of kilos of bbq-ing-material right next to the entry. Luckily it did not rain at all, so happy campers we were!!
The pirate boat was THE eye catcher, the massive structure stood right between the two main stages and the cirkus tent stage and got shredded by about 40 skaters who got their asses kicked, especially Gabriel Engelke, who won a guitar for the weekend’s worst slam. Seb Daurel was simply ripping it up in every single corner of the boat and got the award for the best overall skater. Hugo Liard who’s been spending quite some time in transitions lately dropped the best trick and won a guitar that Lemmy from Motorhead signed for him after their show.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who made this weekend happen, especially Bertrand for organizing it all, Minus Ramps (Joerg, Baum, Matt etc.) for realizing the boat idea into this massive unique piece of ramp, Jean Sebastian Gueze for all the help and support, the decorators (Erwan and his buddy), Kevin, David, all the photographers, the skaters, Adrien Poulard, the bands, Stu for printing the nice tees and of course the bloody english drunkard FRENCH who did all the artwork for it. Thanks for an unforgettable weekend!!!
Here’s what FRENCH did:
