Under the exciting theme Trojan Horse the International Festival of Music & Arts features artists such as the UK producer SBTRKT, Berlin’s electronic one-off-a-kind Apparat, Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann, plus Ben Frost, Chet Faker, Future Brown, Kelela, Jessy Lanza and Recondite amongst others.
The British outdoor festival Field Day, taking place in London's Victoria Park since 2007, will also co-present a stage featuring Dan Snaith’s reignited Caribou project leading the charge to present the brand new longplayer Our Love. The long and sweaty warm up comes from acts like melancholic house charmer Pantha Du Prince, enigmatic UK act Jungle, the always lost in music DJ duo Talaboman (John Talabot + Axel Boman) and Evian Christ.
To accompany this years edition the C2C makers asked their DJ friend Giorgio Valletta to mix a Carhartt WIP Radio Alfa MiTo Club To Club special that features music from acts like Fatima Al Qadiri, Luke Vibert, Tiger & Woods, Ron Morelli and Vessel to gain a musical insight into this years 14th edition. To look deeper behind the curtain of one of the best contemporary festivals in Italy, we additionally talked to Sergio Ricciardone - one of the movers and shakers of Alfa MiTo Club To Club. Below is what he told us.

What is your musical background? What was the impetus behind the launch of Club To Club 14 years ago?
Sergio Ricciardone: New wave and electronic.
If you could describe the Club To Club festival in one sentence, what would it be?
Sergio Ricciardone: One word: avant-pop.
Do you have a "wish list" of musicians you'd like to see perform at your festival?
Sergio Ricciardone: This year we actually have all the artists we wanted besides FKA Twigs (and possibly Thom Yorke).
What do you find most challenging about the work you do?
Sergio Ricciardone: To combine avant-garde and pop together.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Sergio Ricciardone: Doing something I'm passionate about.
What’s the worst thing about your job?
Sergio Ricciardone: 20-hour working days.
Can you give some advice to someone who is interested in starting his or her own festival?
Sergio Ricciardone: Do what you believe in and don't accept compromises.
What was the first festival you ever went to?
Sergio Ricciardone: Barcelona's Sonar Festival, where I also had the pleasure to play in 2003.
What distinguishes Club To Club from other festivals in your opinion?
Sergio Ricciardone: Its ever innovative character, always able to take challenges.
What was the most magical festival moment you ever had?
Sergio Ricciardone: Kode9 back in 2010 playing never heard before Burial tracks in an 18th century theatre.
Who are you most looking forward to see at Club To Club this year?
Sergio Ricciardone: Our audience enjoying artists playing at the festival.
What kind of music would you would represent on Club To Club in a world without electricity?
Sergio Ricciardone: Tribal and esoteric folk music.
How, would you say, could non-mainstream forms of music reach wider audiences?
Sergio Ricciardone: By being faithful to their non-mainstream identity.
What’s something you’ve learned through music that has helped you in life (and vice versa)?
Sergio Ricciardone: You should always have vision.
If you would do a forecast of what is the sound of tomorrow how would it look like?
Sergio Ricciardone: Arca is the sound of tomorrow.
