Berlin: Wax Treatment

"Every sound of the drum you hear is an African beat“ the legendary Reggae band The Wailing Souls once declared. In these days their statement is more true than ever because almost each producer of electronic music got some Africa in his sound. At the first Wax Treatment weekend, that takes place during Berlin's famos Karneval der Kulturen, lots of musicians and DJs from the Western Hemisphere will hook up with African music traditions in their own unique stylistic way. In the center of it all wobbles the bass that is the main love affair of such artists like legendary Basic Channel and Rythm & Sound member Mark Ernestus, Mark Ainley, one third behind Honest Jons records, Analog Africa Soundsystem, Friedman & Liebezeit as well as Dubstep innovators like Appleblim and Shackleton. Furthermore artist from Africa like the Jeri-Jeri ensemble from Dakar will perform exclusively. All of them present their music on the big Killasan sound system that will hit you softly and hard with its massive strength.
