Cologne: Ronald Langestraat live

Dutch musician Ronald Langestraat, active since the early 1980s, is in his Indian Summer phase, playing his somehow slept-on music to a contemporary audience, that embraces his strange rhythmical patterns, well balanced distortion and lo-fi blue eyed soul jazz. In Cologne, the 78-year-old multi-instrumentalist, who plays Fender Rhodes piano, Farfisa organ, Clarinet, tenor saxophone, alto saxophone and soprano saxophone, will perform a very intimate gig in the cozy Acephale bar. It’s the right place for Langestraat, who from 1986 to 1992 held a residency in the lounge of Amsterdam’s Apollo Hotel, where he played the piano five days a week, for five hours a day. The night is organized by Dublab.de, who also invited Red Light Records’ Abel, host of Carhartt WIP's Music From Memory Radio show, and Marathon Man, the man behind the South Of North label. The two Amsterdam boys will be accompanied by Dublab.de co-runner Joscha Creutzfeldt. Be early if you wanna come in.
