Now the hip hop oddball comes in cooperation with Carhartt WIP to Europe to flash his explicit lyrical skills live. He brings along his latest album Old – a punchline-stuffed longplayer whose music comes from famous producers such as South London's finest Paul White, Madlib's younger brother Oh No, the Glaswegian 21st-century beats sculptor Rustie, or Montreal based turntablist A-Trak. Since his digitally released debut in 2008 things have been moving along slowly but nicely for Danny Brown. With his third solo album XXX he stepped out of the underground in 2011 and received hilarious reviews worldwide. Beside his artistic output he also gained fame with his back-and-forth talk with A$AP Rocky that turned out to be a Youtube hit in 2012. With his fourth album Old the boy from Detroit underpinned in late 2013 again that his sample-based psychedelic hip hop is one of the freshest around. And this foremost because he has – in comparison to many of his colleagues – no fear to melt his sound with contemporary electronic and grime influenced elements. Above all loops, breaks, and beats his verbal punk attacks flow anew extremly versatile and deliver extraordinary hard hitting lyrics that move his album even more forward.
The perfect way to feel his unique class completely is to see him live. The way he controlls the stage, the audience, and the way he raps unabashed to advanced kicking music, makes clear that this man is one of the last one-off-a-kinds in hip hop culture!
