In 2003, the project launched to build Songdo International Business District, aka Songdo, with the goal of making it one of the smartest cities in the world. The city is entirely connected, monitored and optimized with the newest technologies for sustainability, transportation, and safety. Concurrently, Songdo is also seen to become one of the major ecomonical poles in Asia. This 10-year development project is estimated to cost more than 40 billion dollars, making it one of the most expensive ever undertaken in the world, and will inevitably be used as the leading model for future cities worldwide.
Part of the Carhartt WIP skateboard team paid then a visit to South Korea to experience skating the old areas of Seoul VS skating the innovative Songdo. Watch the SEOUL, PAST & NEO to have a glimpse of how skating a "future city" could be like and if Skateboarding is included in it.
