Sparse, syncopated rhythms and a strong bassline – Dubstep loves its instrumentals minimal and dark feeling. Some say its music for weed heads, others think it is just derivative of 2-step, garage, and drum and bass. But when DJ, label runner and producer Orson holds a Version party at OHM in Berlin, there can be no doubt about its credentials as a deep, impactful genre. The club brings the perfect size and sound system to feel all kinds of music in all its vibrant colours. For the first Version of the year, expect Orson and Hops, as well as their Berlin based DJ buddy Skratch, who loves the big bass power as much as his hosts. The three will be joined by Peverelist, the man behind the iconic Bristol based label Punch Drunk and one of the UK's first hour Dubstep advocates. Four selectors for loud thumping bass music, that, if you surrender, shakes your mind and soul profoundly.
