A festival is a festival is a festival is a festival, some might say. However, if you take a look at Terraforma, the festival that takes place in the garden of the 18th century Villa Arconati in Milan, you’ll soon see that not all all of them look or feel the same. The third edition of this sustainable event – which serves local food products and ensures that everything is built from recyclable material – focuses on music that some might label experimental. For others, it’s simply medicine for the soul. The diverse bill features artists such as the UK’s éminence grise for special dance grooves, Andrew Weatherall; Paris-based, New York native techno-and-beyond border-crosser Ron Morelli; Italian-American pianist, composer and synthesizer-queen Suzanne Ciani; and Italy’s greatest contemporary avant-garde electronic DJ and producer, Donato Dozzy.
At Terraforma, Carhartt WIP proudly presents a very special side program for the festival, curated for a very special sound system inside a uniquely designed tent. Here, Cologne’s godfather of minimal techno Wolfgang Voigt will present his larger-than-life kraut-ambient project GAS. Furthermore, legendary new-age musician Laraaji performs live on the zither, London-based producer Mala plays tunes, and Germany’s man for extraordinary experimental frequencies Rashad Becker performs, amongst others.
