London: Motor City Drum Ensemble at Deviation

The main act is the German record collector, DJ, label maker, and producer Danilo Plessow aka Motor City Drum Ensemble. The currently Utrecht, Netherlands based jack of all trades, who just recently released a krautrock influenced collaborative ambient album together with Innervisions artist Marcus Worgull under the alias Vermont, is famous for DJ sets that avoid the usual streamlined house rhythm form. Instead he mixes old funk, soul, and jazz equally with contemporary bass music from all kinds of genres. The right approach for Benji B who will play alongside him as well as Rinse FM's radio host Josey Rebelle. Upstairs on the little floor all old school jungle and drum and bass heads will go bananas as nobody else then DJ Die performs. The co-founder of the legendary Bristol based label Full Cycle Recordings and former member of even more legendary projects like Mercury Prize winners Reprazent and Breakbeat Era will dive deep into his own life story and play some long forgotten tunes out of the rich UK jungle and drum and bass history as well as some demanding disco, boogie, and every thing in between tunes.
