“I started getting into photography while studing design and took some photo classes to give it a try and after shooting some medium format studio stuff and
doing all the prossesing and printing I was hooked on photography.
As a skater it was obvious to document skating and I always liked the more
Journalistic/ documetary style that also showed not only skateboarding but also showed some landscape, people or portrait photos of a roadtrip or tour. TWS Mag had some good examples before Grant Brittain, Swift and Atiba started the The Skateboard Mag.
Skateboarding and photography has taken me many places so far, Australia, USA, Europe…. favourites being Australia, Oregon, Sweden, Spain …
One of the best road trips was traveling with Bernt Jahnel, Matt Grabowski, Alex Schärfe from California up to Oregon and back for 4 weeks.
I like the photography of Richard Avedon, Francis Wolff, Anton Corbijn, Jon Deakin, Jay Tanju, Dan Sturt, William Claxton, Glen Friedman, Wim Wenders, Jim Rakte …
I like shooting film and I like old cameras like the Pentax 6×7, Agfa Isolette, Rollei 35 but I shoot digital most of the time nowadays.”
