This year's program is even more ambitious than the years before. The festival takes place during the first weekend of May. On Friday the intense UK duo Tomaga will play their minimalist dark psychedelic compositions. Furthermore installation artist Thomas Ankersmit will tune up his big analogue modular synthesizer, the dedicated Dutch pianist Saskia Lankhoorn introduces new works and Alessandro Cortini, well known for his work with Nine Inch Nails, performs his latest album Sonno live for the first time in The Netherlands. Also Grouper will present a new set of songs, ambient sounds and field recordings with original films by Paul Clipson, the multidisciplinary Canadian nine-piece collective Godspeed You! Black Emperor will showcase their new album Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress and two giants of the German experimental electronic music scene, Hans Joachim Irmler from legendary Krautrock band Faust and Gudrun Gut of Malaria!, Einstürzende Neubauten and Monika Enterprise, join forces live at Rewire.
During the night parties take place. One clubnight features a special A/V show by the producers Evian Christ, Holly Herndon, Lorn and TCF. Another presents two leading underground dance labels: L.I.E.S. from New York and Diagonal from London. For L.I.E.S. label founder Ron Morelli and Chicago based experimental dance producer Svengalisghost hit the stage. For Diagonal Shit and Shine, Bronze Teeth and label runner Powell come around.
On the second day Neneh Cherry shows up to present her latest album with the London-based duo Rocketnumbernine and Seattle-based experimental hip hop artist Shabazz Palaces. Also the cosmic rock collective Gnod, Finland’s underground supergroup Siinai, ambient and Krautrock border crossers The Cult Of Dom Keller and Detroit hip hop/house producer DJ Stingray play amongst others. At the night you can get lost in music, too. This time to sets by RSS B0YS, Pearson Sound, future dub champion The Bug, footwork producer RP Boo and bass wizard Addison Groove.
Two days and nights across the city of The Hague that feature a unique program. It has been curated with much love and devotion to make people happy that long for more than just entertaiment.
