The Hague: REWIRE Festival
- Date published
22 oct. 2012
The program features a contemporary art exhibition, artist talks, performances, and cutting-edge live music and DJ sets. All happening in a former office building, a defiled church, and parts of the old powerplant. What all sections have in common is a look on the avant-garde side of coeval music and art. We are happy to be part of the second REWIRE edition and gladly annouce what is going on in The Hague on the first weekend of November 2012.
This years art exhibition runs under the title A Matter of Time and features works that deal with the experience and perception of time as well as with the role that time plays for both the individual and society. In the artist talk section Turner Prize winner Douglas Gordon, widely acclaimed painter Daniel Richter, and enfant terrible Jonathan Meese discuss their work and world outlook.
In the music section no style is king and diversity calls the tune. From heavy Dubstep to synth-laden Techno, from jagged New Wave to propulsive Post-Punk: artists such as Alex Smoke, Laurel Halo, Lotus Plaza, Nosaj Thing, Patten, Rocketnumbernine, Xosar, Legowelt, and Shackleton show how energetic and imaginative the undergound shapes future music. To receive a spirited impression take a look at the full line-up that offers sound streams of all participating musicians.
