Cologne: Week-End Festival

Thurston Moore, James Pants, Michael Mayer, High Places, Jacques Palminger, Optimo Wilkes/Twitch, Françoiz Breut: the list of artists that enter the stage of the old landmarked UFA Filmpalast cinema in Cologne is impressive. They all come by to celebrate the first Week-End festival - a three day happening with jaw-dropping performances in the name of contemporary Pop, Postpunk, Electronica, Techno, House, and other variations of experimental music with an edge.

All concerts are held in a theaterstyle seating arrangement and are strictly limited to 500 visitors per day. After the shows the party continues in the cinema crush room where DJs like Kompakt head honcho Michael Mayer or the notorious Scottish border crossers Optimo Wilkes/Twitch will spin records till sunrise. Furthermore during daytime screenings of old movie classics who are selected by the invited artists upgrade the Festival with rare to see cinema art.
