“I would be the director of little fight-scenes starring my friends and with ketchup for blood. We even had a neighbour on the farm where I grew up who would lit up an old car for one of my action-shots. Of course I lost interest in filming again shortly after that but when I got into skateboarding in ’99, it didn’t take me long to pick up the old camera again to film my homies and myself skating.
After graduation, I moved out to Barcelona to skate and film, to give it a shot to actually make a living doing so and skateboarding opened doors for me along the way. I’ve been working for Podium Dist., German Monster Skateboard Magazine and various companies such as Vans, Jart or Carhartt and with six full-length skatevideos („Victims“ in 2003, “Addicted” in 2004, „Purple“ in 2006, “Here we R!” in 2006, „Done.“ in 2009 and „Mosh it Down“ in 2011) under my belt already, I’ve been trying out new things, too – such as music videos, showreels for burlesque dancers, working with my favourite german actor Ralf Richter or doing various Ads.
It’s been quite some time now since the early days of my childhood, but still everything I do feels like living the dream sometimes – as long as there is time to skate and I can make a living around it, things could be worse!”
