Mark Ernestus' Ndagga Rhythm Force is hitting Manchester for the first time to play a show for the Marcus Intalex Music Foundation. The night sees dub and techno veteran and Hard Wax founder Mark Ernestus on another highly energetic, percussion-heavy adventure with his lively group of musicians from Senegal. Drum Chief Modou Mbaye, dancer Fatou Wore Mboup, Assane Ndoye Cisse on the guitar, drummer Bada Seck and the great Mbene Diatta Seck on the mic will prove to be an enthralling, explosive combination.
The live show is presented by Carhartt Work In Progress and marks the band’s debut performance in Manchester following a day of interactive workshops by the Marcus Intalex Music Foundation, inviting participants to dive into Senegalese music, dance and culture.
Before and after the show Manchester's finest Conor Thomas will spin records. The man who co-runs both Boomkat Editions and The Death Of Rave record labels will drop one of his eclectic selections which skew towards the grimmer and darker ends of contemporary electronic music.
