Portugal: Neopop Festival

Started in 2006, the festival evolved until today into Portugal's leading electronic weekend bash. Since its launch it features a fine selection of house and techno heavyweights as well as demanded newcomers. This year the list of stars is long and amazing: Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, Josh Wink or Jeff Mills are on the bill. Furthermore young and famed artists such as Tale Of Us, Vakula or Recondite are bringing some deep dance vibes to the small Portugese coastal city of Viana do Castelo.The most anticipated show of the weekend will be the performance of Underground Resistance. The legendary music collective from Detroit will present their avant-garde techno show Timeline live. As for them techno is music rooted in experimentation, Keyboardist Jon Dixon, saxophonist DeSean Jones, DJ Mark Flash, and keyboardist Mad Mike Banks will play electronic future sounds that melt Detroit's musical heritage from Motown to Metroplex and jazz into a big powerful journey of sound. Their show rounds up a festival line-up that is hard to resist when you are in love with haunting house and techno emotions.
