Because Germanys first Dubstep pioneer Orson has invited his old buddy Shackleton to play on one of his famous Version parties.
As a co-founder of Skull Disco, the Briton with the creepy pen name was responsible for one of the most unique new record labels. Sadly he and his partner Appleblim just decided to close down the high-flying company after 10 worldwide critically acclaimed releases.
But no worries all you fans of massive bass attacks, hypnotic melodies and snaking percussion rhythms: as a producer Shackleton will keep on running his very personal bass business.
At the moment he is touring to present his matchless vision of Dubstep live. And this with an epic set that show how futuristic soundsystem traditions and techno atmopheres can join forces. In the centre you find the bass – huge and omnipresent. On the right and left you get overwhelmed by African inspired percussions and oriental alien melodies. Also typical Dub instruments like the Melodica and sampled patois vocals enrich his wave of sound, that often suddenly but not surprisingly opens his room for House chords and Techno beats.
A mindblowing demonstration that music still got the power to move on into undiscovered territories, where old traditions sound new after some creative individual thought them over. Before and after his show you can victim this too when Orson (picture below) plays some nouveau sounds from his just freshly established Label Version and some of the hottest Dubplates out of the rapidly growing Dubstep universum.
