The countdown is on - only six more days and you can fete for one carefree day and one sweaty night to many different contemporary rhythms and sounds. During the day the sweet German quartet beat! beat! beat!, the blithesome Australian Twee-Pop Ensemble Architecture in Helsinki, and the cool British chart toppers Editors are in charge of loud guitar licks and touching sing-along melodies. Indierock deluxe - as heartfelt as the Soul music of Cody ChesnuTT, the man that composed the world-wide The Roots anthem The Seed (2.0). The singer from Florida is one new name on the agenda and comes to Düsseldorf to perform his bewitching lo-fi songs on the main stage.
Additional during the day the Carhartt stage give you a lift with massive Dubstep bass waves. With Jamie xx, beatmaker of the famous The xx, one of the most talented new faces of the UK bass scene plays his Düsseldorf debut. Also his fellow countrymens Mount Kimbie are for the first time in town to juggle with bass, beats, and vocal samples full of soul and dark atmospheres. Beyond that the three French House party animals dOP play live and we promisse: they will drive you nuts.
During the night the Festival hits the road and spreads his versatile grooves all over the town. In several different clubs acts like the new Jamaican-French Detroit House sensation Aquarius Heaven or the Latin American Cómeme family consisting of producers such as Matias Aguayo, Diegors, or Ana Helder ask you out to dance. One new name in the line-up is Bullion from London. Armed with his debut longplayer You Drive Me To Plastic he is ready to deliver headstrong sample music full of psychedelic guitar love affairs. Another new style on this years Open Source bill that transforms the Festival into an exquisite happening full of contemporary music in all it's colours and styles.
