Currently the man from Romania is world-wide in great demand for peerlees club music that oscillates between egdy House to deep bass driven Dubstep. Since he is a live perfromer, he always needs to carry a lot of gear around. Thats why we thought he might be the perfect proband to test our CARHARTT X UDG DJ Bag en route. Weeks after the disposal of our exclusive package in front of his door, we hook up with Cosmin TRG (pictures below) to ask him some questions about his daily DJ grind and his experiences with the CARHARTT X UDG DJ Bag.

How did the digital revolution change your personal way of DJ-ing?
Cosmin TRG: The immediate availability of tunes means you can transfer, play and enjoy music at any time, anywhere. As a performer I am more concerned about content rather than form. For me, digital meant I could change my sets, switch the vibes, carry great amounts of different tunes without worrying about physical space.
What’s your favourite format, vinyl, CD, or mp3?
Cosmin TRG: I’m still very fond of vinyl as a format, but when I play out it’s a digital affair, either CDs/ Serato or live.
What do you think a DJ set-up will look like in the year 2020?
Cosmin TRG: The year 2020 should be all about minimal setups – less gadgets, more stability, less wires, more creativity.
What’s your most favorite DJ location?
Cosmin TRG: Big outdoor Festivals and small sweaty basements. I enjoy Festivals in the middle of nowhere as well as small/ medium sized clubs like Plastic People in London or Smart Bar in Chicago.

Where did you use the Carhartt X UDG bag for the first time?
Cosmin TRG: At Fabric in London, for my first live gig, and pretty much all my gigs ever since. It’s a versatile bag so it can adapt to all sorts of gigs and travelling. I could fit a midi controller, a midi keyboard, 15” MBP, laptop stand, and still had space to fill in!
Did you encounter any problems with your bag as a carry-on item?
Cosmin TRG: I trust the lock so I always check it in for comfort. Sometimes when you change flights, you get on this small propeller plane that can’t even fit your jacket, so I’d go for the check in.
What would you change or add to the bag?
Cosmin TRG: It’s brilliant the way it is, if anything, I would throw in some extra internal padding to separate gear such as midi controllers from other items in the bag. I must say the plastic cover was a very clever addition! The best thing about it for me, is that I can fit a 15” MB Pro, an Akai APC40 that wouldn’t fit anywhere else, AND a UDG CD bag. Can’t ask for more!
