Jay Daniel, one of the brightest emerging talents in Detroit's electronic music scene in the past few years, will perform two exclusive DJ sets in Europe, presented by Carhartt WIP and J.A.W Family. Since releasing his excellent 2013 Scorpio Rising EP on Theo Parrish's Sound Signature imprint, he has since gone on to release a glut of EPs on labels such as Kyle Hall’s Wild Oats and Steven Julien's Apron Records as well as his debut album Broken Knowz on the London based imprint Technicolour and, at the end of last year, his intimate hip hop-meets-electronic LP TALA on Watusi High from Detroit.
This March will see him performing two vinyl-only DJ sets in Paris and Berlin. In the French capital he will play a solo show at L'Entrée des artistes, a small venue in Quartier Pigalle. The next night he will be at the former grain mill in Berlin's Neukölln district, better known as Griessmühle. Here he will be accompanied by the Naples- and Berlin-based duo Nu Guinea and Belgian selector San Soda. The former will deliver an extended seven hour show combining DJ skills with live keys. The latter will take a ride on a proper rotary mixer melting down classic house, techno, Afro, jazz and the timeless electro cuts. The final set will be in Jay Daniel, bringing finest Detroit soul and futuristic techno peppered with hip hop spheres.
